About KOOKOO FOOD

Who Are We?

KooKoo Food Ltd is a family-run business founded by me and my wife, Leila, in December 2023. What began with a simple passion for making homemade samosas quickly grew into a full journey into the world of Persian street food here in the UK.

With years of culinary experience and a shared love for authentic flavours, we stepped into the vibrant world of street markets—bringing a taste of home to every dish we served.

The Evolution of Our Menu

In 2024, we expanded our menu using our signature spice blends, a family heritage brought directly from Iran. This marked the beginning of a new chapter for us, introducing three of our most loved dishes:

  • Persian Saffron Chicken
  • Persian Saffron Lamb Doner
  • Gluten-Free Falafel

Soon after, we added even more authentic Persian classics:

  •  Kabab Koobideh (Saffron)
  •  Ghormeh Sabzi
  •  Fesenjan (Pomegranate & Walnut Stew)

All dishes are prepared fresh daily and served with fragrant Persian rice, just the way it’s meant to be. Growing Across the UK It didn’t take long for KooKoo Food to win hearts. By December 2025, our presence had expanded across major UK cities, including:

  • Oxford
  • Bristol
  • Reading
  •  Swindon
  •  Manchester
  •  Newcastle
  • South West London

From busy street markets to some of the biggest festivals in the UK, KooKoo Food became known for its fresh ingredients, bold flavours, and warm Persian hospitality. Where We’re Heading Our journey has only just begun. With the growing love of our customers and the energy of our amazing team, KooKoo Food is expanding its locations and preparing to bring the true taste of Persian street food to even more people across the country.

KooKoo Food is more than food — it’s culture, family, flavour, and a celebration of Persian culinary heritage. We can’t wait to serve you.

What you need to know about samosa

KOOKOO FOOD

A samosa (/səˈmoʊsə/) or singara is a fried South Asian[2] pastry with a savoury filling, including ingredients such as spiced potatoes, onions, peas, meat or chicken. It may take different forms, including triangular, cone, or half-moon shapes, depending on the region.[3][4][5] Samosas are often accompanied by chutney, and have origins in medieval times or earlier.[3] Sweet versions are also made. Samosas are a popular entrée, appetizer, or snack in the cuisines of South Asia, the Middle East, Central Asia, East Africa and their South Asian diasporas.
